Dr.
Jennifer Staniec
Veterinarian
Dr. Jennifer Staniec moved to the Central Coast after graduating from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in Alabama in 1996. Early in her career, she enjoyed practicing large and small animal medicine with a strong interest in equine reproduction. Later, she briefly offered her services as a relief veterinarian and even moonlighted at a local emergency clinic. The vast majority of her experience has been as a dog and cat doctor, but recently, she has shown an interest in exotic medicine. What better place to be than at Cat and Exotic Care of the Central Coast.
Dr. Staniec is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, California Veterinary Medical Association and the local Mid-Coast VMA where she served as Secretary for two years.
Her interests and hobbies include horseback riding, traveling, running and cycling. She also enjoys spending quality family time with her husband and their first child, Ella Jane. She shares a residence with two sweet horses, two hyper Border Collies and a particularly goofy cat.
Dr. Staniec looks forward to joining the Cat and Exotic Care family and meeting all of the interesting patients.

Cherian
Veterinary Assistant
Cherian was born and raised in Ohio, and is still getting used to the wonderful California sunshine! She attended the Ohio State University starting in 2003, and graduated with a B.S. in Microbiology. Her focus through school was pre-veterinary medicine, and she started working at CEC in January 2009 to continue to build up experience towards her goal of one day becoming a vet! She is learning a lot about animals and the people who care for them, and having a great time!
While at OSU, Cherian volunteered at the equine hospital on campus, and worked from 2007-2008 as a veterinary assistant for Northstar Animal Care, a clinic near the university. She was lucky to have a lot of exposure to the various things that make veterinary medicine interesting through the pre-veterinary club, and hopes one day to be able to share the same sort of knowledge with others.
When not in scrubs, Cherian enjoys martial arts, drawing, hiking, gaming, and being with the people she loves! She also has a sense of adventure and loves to try new things.
Cherian really enjoys working with the wonderful staff at CEC, and will do her best to make sure you and your pet get the best care possible!
